Description
Excerpt: The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) established the National Center for Toxicogenomics (NCT) in June 2000. Toxicogenomics is an emerging scientific field that combines studies of genetics, genome-wide mRNA expression, cell and tissue-wide protein expression, and bioinformatics to understand the roles of gene-environment interactions in disease. The NCT was created to facilitate application of toxicogenomics to improve human health.
